Butler Bookstore and Starbucks grand opening

A grand opening banner hangs above the northern entrance to Atherton Union on Friday, September 3, 1999, in honor of the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the expanded bookstore and the addition of the campus Starbucks. Balloons line the sidewalks and people stand near tables topped with coffee urns and decorated with plants. When the coffee shop opened, it was the first full-retail Starbucks in Indianapolis. During the grand opening, prizes were given away including CD players, t-shirts, and mountain bikes. |
