Outdoor seating on the north side of Atherton Union

Description:	A person sits in the outdoor seating area on the north side of Atherton Union. Plants line the edges of seating area and the grass is protected by a rope barrier. It is likely that this grass was recently planted after a 5,000 square-foot addition was constructed on the north side of Atherton Union. Part of the addition is visible in this photograph and the space allowed for the expansion of the bookstore and the addition of the campus Starbucks. Both spaces opened in 1999.
