Cars and trucks are parked outside of Hinkle Fieldhouse, at the top of the Butler Bowl (later renamed the Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl). When the football stadium opened in 1928, it could seat approximately 35,000 people, with the option to add additional seating at a later date. The September 19, 1928, issue of The Butler Collegian claimed that it was the largest football stadium in the state. |
