Butler Bowl and Butler Fieldhouse

Description: A black and white photograph of the Butler Bowl (later renamed the Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl), looking south across the football field. A portion of Butler Fieldhouse (later renamed Hinkle Fieldhouse) is visible on the right side of the photograph. Although Butler University played night games in the 1930s and 1940s, the last night game was played in 1941. The lights were removed after World War II, but outdoor lighting was added back in 2011. Butler University played Franklin College in its first night game, after more than seven decades, on September 8, 2012. Interestingly, the first Butler University football game played in the Butler Bowl was also against Franklin College, and was played on October 13, 1928.
