We won by one point which is too close for safety.5 Played Smithville tonight. We won again. Howre we doin?8 Today the United States declared war upon Japan—a memorable day.10 Played Montgomery. We won by four points.11 All of the grades but the Seniors received pictures today; some of them were thinking the camera must have been very good or it would have broken.12 We played Paragon. The Eagles are still fighting for all there is in it.17 Played Gosport and won again—30-20.23 Today we saw a very interesting1 Drogram given by the grades. Vacation begins tomorrow, thentomorrow night Good St. Nick will visit us. Merry Christmas!January1 Off to a good start in this year; the Eagles won a good game from Spencer. There was no NewYears Eve for the Eagles.5 Back to school again. It seems as though all good things like vacations must end.7 The photographer came back today and finished taking pictures for the Llamarada.9 Had a very good game with Oolitic. We really went to town the last quarter.16 Played Shoals, but we lost. Whats Shoals got that we havent?—nothing.19 Many of the pupils all over the county saw the Royal Swedish Bell Ringers. They were verygood.20 The indoor circus is in town! Everyone is expecting a good time.22 The Wabash Valley tourney preliminaries began tonight. Ellettsville played Mooresville andcame out 0. K.24 The Eagles were the winners of the Wabash Valley preliminaries.29 Linton was downed by Ellettsville at Terre Haute by five points. We lost the Wabash Valleytourney at Terre Haute by three points. Wiley downed the Eagles (43-40). No one ever put upa stiffer fight than our boys did at Terre Haute. Hats off! Bob Crum won the sportsmanshipaward.February6 The Eagles downed the Quarry Lads.11 For the third time this basketball season the Eagles have downed the Indians.13 This may be Friday the 13th, but the Eagles came through like troopers at Bloomfield.20 Well! Well! Unionville downed the Eagles by one point. Wait until the sectional!21 The basketball boys banquet was tonight. Everyone ate to his hearts content and his stomachstoo. The Ellettsville junior high team won the junior high tri-county tourney at Monrovia. Goodteams must run in the school.23 The Seniors went to the Payne trial today. Very interesting.28 The Sectional is over. Monrovia downed the Eagles in the semi-final game by five points. Everyone in Ellettsville is proud of them just the same. This basketball season has been an excitingone, hasnt it?March3 The Seniors had a skating party tonight.6 The king and queen of the May Day program were elected today. Band party tonight.13 The girls council sponsored a party and dance tonight.17 St. Patricks day brought success to the Junior play, Sulphur and Molasses.20 The P. T. A. carnival tonight. Loads of fun.24 The tri-county spelling and commercial contest was held here today.31 The Freshman banquet tonight.April1 The last month of school—the beginning of the end.10 The musical program was at Martinsville today.25 The Junior and Senior banquet tonight.26 Baccalaureate day. Well, heres one more step towards graduation.27 The Seniors had charge of devotions this morning.28 Class night. Everyone had loads of fun.29 May Day program with Irene Miller and Lee Addie as king and queen30 At last! Commencement day. Will you miss us, E. H. S.?
