Heis so tight that the Bloomington National Bank had to build a special vault to stackhis fortune, all in nickles and pennies.After leaving school, Faye Bogard got a job as a stewardess on a large airliner.Here she fell madly in love with the handsome co-pilot. After getting married, theywent through many heroic adventures together. She once heroicly saved a whole cargoof people from complete death when her plane crashed. She advanced rapidly and is nowpresident of T. W. A.Immediately after graduating from E. H. S., Peedle Acuff started to a barbercollege. Upon graduation he bought a little barber shop in Ellettsville. Workinghard and having many friends, he became very prosperous and soon bought out most ofthe barber shops in and around Bloomington. He now has a complete monopoly on allthe barber shops in Southern Indiana. He also sings in the best Barber Shop Quartettenorth of Texas.After getting out from under the deteriorating influence of the teachers ofE. H. S., a great change came over Oman Sears. The greatest change was apparent whenhe became a preacher. His sermons were so convincing that sinners changed there wayof life by the thousands. After a few years of preaching at many churches and dryingup the state of Indiana, he moved to Indianapolis where he now preaches at the CadleTabernacle.After getting married, Barbara Stephenson plunged into the trucking business feetfirst. Driving her husbands truck she made two trips a week to Denver for a few years.Realizing this would soon get boring, she decided to start being the boss of a wholefleet; so she bought about fifty new trucks and started running the other companies outof business. Now she smokes dollar cigars and lights them with ten dollar bills. Sheseems to be slightly prosperous.Even before he graduated Estel Sparks had his greedy eyes on a certain businessthat would never die out or go out of style. This happened to be an undertaking establishment in the fair city of Ellettsville. He made himself a very notorious reputationas an undertaker and embalmer deluxe. His work was known the world over for its quality,and soon it became fashionable for all the notables among the underworld to be put awayby the Sparks Permanent Funeral and Embalming Company.After Nancy Buchanan was married, her millionaire husband took her on a worldcruise. They started in his yacht in 1953 and four years later they were just gettinghome. Upon her arrival she announced her intention of writing a book on the problemsof world peace. The world eagerly awaited this volume; and when it arrived, evenbrother Joe Stalin was convinced that his form of government was wrong.23 |
