Junior KatelynnNunn, a first year Southstudent, enjoyed PurpleCarpet Day because it gaveher insight into all the clubs. Iam a very social person, sotalking to the peoplerepresenting the differentgroups really helped medecide which ones to join,Nunn said.In addition, Purple CarpetVI. Band members Aidrik Grube RomanCyliax and Theodore Gonyea play the drumsto hype up the crowd.VII. Souths Panther Regiment perform duringthe halftime show of a football game.Day gives clubs theopportunity to recruit moremembers. The event is vitalfor club leaders like seniorVeera Shah, the president ofDiversity Club and Harry PotterClub. Presidents oftencampaign for their clubs bygiving out food or candy, withthe one stipulation being thatthe student commits to theirclub first. In the future, Shahhopes that freshmen and newstudents will get more time tolook around.
