Description: ComingHomeA surprisingly warm October 19marked Norths eighth annualHomecoming game as the Cougars romped over the JenningsCounty Panthers, 44-14.Susie Lawson was crowned1979 Homecoming Queen. Susiewas presented her crown duringhalftime by last years queen, VeraDillman.Another victory came to thesophomores as they walked awaywith first place for their float entitled Cage The Panthers.Spirit week, sponsored by thecheerleaders, was a new idea thisyear and a big success. The weekbefore the game, there was a different theme for each day. Theweek started off with Dress-UpDay. Tuesday was Jeans andSweatshirt Day, Wednesday wasCowboy Hat Day, and Thursdaywas Farmers Day. On the day ofthe game, and the homecomingpep session, it was Maroon andGold Day. During the pep session,the sophomores won the spiritstick.Besides sponsoring spirit week,the cheerleaders also sold whitecarnations with maroon and goldribbons for $1.75 each.13
