HOME SWEET HOMEfCOMING]Students were entertained and enjoyed the homecoming game,court ceremony, and then dance.Every year, South holds the beloved homecoming game,dance, and court. This event is highly anticipated bySouth students from seniors to freshmen and everyonein between. The homecoming court tradition dates backto 1911 and has been enjoyed by South students fordecades. The majority of students agree that this yearsfestivities were great.Football games are a popular event at South, andthe Homecoming game is no exception. Students,teachers, parents, and community members alike filledthe stands abuzz with excited chatter. Students showedtheir south pride by shaking milk jug sound makers.Sophomore Torin Kray-Mawhorr said that his favoritepart of the football game was, cheering when we got atouchdown and hanging out with friends. Southsfootball team pulled out a big win, after which studentsexcitedly headed to the white gymnasium for the dance.One of the most exciting homecoming events wasthe homecoming court, who walked on the track duringhalf-time. When asked to reflect on the experience, thehomecoming queen, senior Madison Collins said shewas touched because all of my friends cheered for me,my parents cheered for me, and so did my sister. Thehomecoming court consists of students from everygrade, and students get very excited for this traditionover most others.To top off an amazing night, students were invitedto attend the annual homecoming dance. Students agreethat this dance was one of the best so far. Studentcouncil worked tirelessly to make this years danceexcellent. The homecoming king, senior Henry Ruff,who has attended the dance since his freshman year,said that this year was his favorite dance so far, anddescribed the dance as hype. - ELI DIERSINGWEVE GOTSPIRITYES WE DO!Every year students at South dress up each day for a week in September to lead up to Homecoming.
