Authoritiesbelieve that the blast was from a homemade bomb. A few hours after the bombwent off, the authorities found what they believed was another bomb andremoved it before another explosion happened. Mayor Bill de Blasio stated thatthe explosion was an intentional act.The explosion caused Chelseas streets to be swarmed with police officerstrying to keep the city safe from any other threats that might play out,considering the attacks happened just days after the 15th anniversary ofSeptember 11th, 2001. The bomb was a pressure cooker bomb set offwirelessly. Several people are injured due to the shrapnel. There were nocasualties.
