Description: WERMovits!, a Swedish hip hop and swing band, generated enthusiasmamong Bloomington South students during their second appearanceat the Lotus World Music and Arts Festival on September 21-22.They swayed. They jumped. Theycheered.Lotus attendees completelyimmersed themselves in the boisteroussounds of the Swedish band Movits! forthe second time at the 2012 LotusWorld Music and Arts Festival.After appearing at Lotus in 201 1,the band was welcomed back byBloomington South students andfestival-goers alike. Movitsls return toLotus showed they were reallyappreciated here, said junior JamilMoore, a Lotus veteran.The bands second appearanceroused a large crowd at the IUBloomington Tent. The crowd was sopumped up, said junior KathleenMoore, a first-time Lotus attendee.This feeling of excitement from thecrowd is what brought Movits! back tothe festival for the second year in arow. We consider Bloomington to beone of the best places to play in theStates, said Joakim Nilsson, thebands saxophonist. The audience iscrazy, in a good way.Festival Director Lee Williamsnoted that a lot of people recognizedMovits! and their music this year,whereas last year they were arelatively obscure act. They went fromcompletely unknown to wow!Williams said.Students who saw Movits! thisyear noticed how packed the tent was,a reflection of the increased popularityof the band.Kathleen described the wholeexperience as sweaty.The show was like a non-stopparty, Jamil said.Nilsson agreed. Our music ishard to stand still to, he said. Theband enjoyed the opportunity toenliven audiences through Lotus andother music festivals in the UnitedStates. However, according to Nilsson,the band had another goal: Worlddominance. And the occasionaladmiration from the ladies.
