Description: a play ,on wordsFor three theaterassignment blossomedparticipationThe Bloomington PlaywrightsProject held the 26th Annual MiniPlay Competition in 2010.Students submitted original playsto the contest, and three winnersfrom each age group were chosento direct and have their playsperformed, For the high schoolcategory, three Bloomington Southstudents were chosen as thewinners.Freshman Elizabeth Andersonwon first place, senior Hyo SeongChoi won second place andfreshman Nicole Cox won thirdplace. All three girls were in Ms.Catharine Rademachers theaterclass at South. The entire classwas assigned to submit a miniplay.I was in first trimester theaterand [Ms, Rademacher] told ourclass about the project for classcredit. I had no idea that my playstudents, a classinto extracurricularin the arts.would get picked, said Choi.The three winners spent twoweeks producing their playsbefore they were performeddowntown. Interestingly enough,each winner was somewhatinvolved with her peers finalproductions. Choi directedAndersons play while Cox acted inAndersons; and Anderson directedCoxs play,The experience bonded theplaywrights. I know all thesepeople, Some of them are my bestfriends now, said Cox, [Elizabethand I] became better friends.Finally in March 2010, thestudents saw their plays performedat Rhinos Youth Center. Family,friends, and instructors alike allgathered to see their kids hardwork.
