Description:	the way i feflufle,ChristianityBloomington South was home to avariety of Christian faiths, andseveral students belonged to youthgroups. Freshman Abigail Karcherwas a member of the FirstUnited Methodist Church, andparticipated in the youth group.During the summer of 2009,Karchers youth group went on amission trip to New York. Thegroup worked with homelessshelters to provide better livingconditions for the less fortunate.Freshman Delaney Nichols saidthat the experience changed herlife.Sophomore Alexander Bucy isa member of the North CentralChurch of Christs youth group.Being in a youth group is greatbecause I have really good friendsin it that I can count on.- HANNAH ALANIislamThe Islamic Center youth groupwas a Muslim youth group in thecommunity; sophomore Dina Dajaniwas involved with the group.It feels amazing to belong toa youth group, said Dajani. AtSouth, there are hardly anyMuslims. I know that if I ever needsomething, I can call them.The Islamic Center youthgroup met two times a month,Everyday during Ramadan, familiesthat participated in the youth groupcooked a meal for another family.The youth group also helped outwith the local Community Kitchenwhen they could.When the youth group met,they discussed individual problemsand concerns, and reflected onhow the Quran could have theanswer.-HANNAH ALANIJudaismThe Bloomington Organization ofSynagogue Youth was a Jewishyouth group in the community.Youth Group member juniorMiriam Kerler was in the group,and was the vice president of thesocial action board.Its nice to be with Jewssince it is a minority in thecommunity, said Kerler.In the summer of 2009, thegroup participated in anorganization called Nothing ButNets, Money raised went tofamilies in Africa,Freshman Gillian Applegateis also in the group, Its nice [tobe in a youth group] because Ifeel like Im a part of somethingbigger than myself.
