Finally, therenovation was done and theschool was new and improved.Seniors were excited becausethey could enjoy their last yearin a brand new school.It is nice to go through awhole class and not have toput up with the noises ofhammering and banging.senior Emily Dyott said.In previous years studentshad to put up with noise anddust. The crowded hallwaysand noisy classrooms were abig hassle, but in the end thechanges were for the better.Even though we had to gothrough a lot, it was worthevery bit. Especially now thatit looks so nice, senior BethBush said.Now that the school wascompletely finished there werenumerous things that havechanged. There were TVs anddigital clocks in everyclassroom. Teachers hadphones in their classroom sothat they may call otherteachers if they need anything.Also, every student had a newlocker, which meant no moreof those green, run-downlockers that students had todeal with. And for the firsttime, administrators used theTVs to give the ISTEP, a bigplus for some of the facultymembers.With all the newinnovations in place, theschool seemed to be in tip-topshape for the new millennium.This is my first year in thisschool, and so far I like it betterthan my old school becausethere are more people to talk toand meet, but I still miss myfriends, sophomore StephanieStrader said.Its nice to be back to seeeveryone, but theyve (theschool) tightened down sotheres zero freedom, juniorJennifer Jessup said.The past couple of years havebeen less organized, and now itseems to be running moresmoothly, junior NicoleDiCamillo said.15 |
