Description: .w«.THINKING ITTHROUGHAfter four years at Bloomington South, seniors have accumulated and stored intheir minds many varied pieces of information. One senior said, I learned very fewthings that will help me later in life, but basically I feel like a treasure chest full of useless and trivial information. Another senior said, Ive learned how to live in a hecticenvironment and how to adapt to manykinds of people. A third senior commented, I feel Ive learned more aboutpeople instead of little facts. Anotheragreed: In high school you learn not onlyfacts, but you learn to deal with yourpeers. Some seniors explained that it was notwhat they learned but how they learned itthat they felt was important. Ive learnedhow to cram for tests, and Ive learned whatto study the night before when I haventkept up in some classes. Another added,Ive learned to stay up late at night, finishing homework and studying for tests. Many seniors decided that their favoritesubject areas over the past four years weremathematics and sciences. Math is a challenge. When you find the answer to a hardproblem, it makes you feel so good. Historyclasses are what I liked the least. You justsit there and listen to a teacher talk all thetime. Another senior who enjoyed themath and science classes said, South isdefinitely very strong in the math and science departments; but I like the electivesbetter—psychology, journalism, anddebate especially.A third senior noted, I learned a lot fromradio-TV and debate. You learn to vocalizeyour opinions and to speak in front of cameras and not to be nervous about it.Another senior said, I really liked sociologybecause it was fun to learn about cultures. One student concluded, Personally I likestudying any social sciences. I especiallythought government was worthwhile. Mostimportant of all, good teachers make up forlousy subjects.Academic Division 87
