Since the majority of the studentsare in their first year of instrumental music, there is aneed for hard work.Due to the expansion of music in the metropolitanschools during the past three or four years, anotherband had to be started this year at B.H.S. More andmore students are playing musical instruments, therefore a new system had to be developed which wouldenable more students to participate. The C Band is primarily a training organization formembership in the B Band which in turn feeds theA Band. This band represents mostly the seventhand eighth grades. Since classes met only twice aweek, the band was handicapped in the amount oftime allotted for rehearsals.Because the band is a training organization, it doesnot have very many extra activities. In the spring, however, the C Band provides music for a popsconcert.Students who served as officers for the C Band wereelected at the beginning of the school year. They wereJack Lemon, president; Phillip R. Deckard, vice president; and Tommy Hines, secretary-treasurer. The director is Mr. Edgar L. Axsom. This Page Sponsored by THE DAIRY BAR |
