BLUE TRIANGLEThe years activities opened with an impressive candle-lighting initiation held at the First Christian Church. Shortly before school let outfor Christmas, the club held its traditional Little Sister Party, at whichtime the club played Santa Claus to some grade school children. OnMarch 31, the club held a special Easter convo for the whole school. Earlyin April, the rings were presented at an early morning breakfast. Climaxing the years activities, the annual Mother-Daughter banquet washeld last week. Combined with it, was the installation of new officers.This year for the first time, the club selected four mothers and ateacher to serve as an honorary council. (They are: Mrs. Hazel, Mrs.Fraser, Mrs. Stimpson, Mrs. Gross, and Miss Stuart.)Sponsors of the Blue Triangle are Miss Martin and Miss Slates.The awarding of rings each year to the girls who have proved themselves true to the Blue Triangle code, the annual Mother-Daughter banquet and installation, the Pre-services, and the presentation of a semesterscholarship to I. U. are some of the more outstanding activities of the BlueTriangle. Throughout the entire year, however, there are numerous parties and pot-lucks and programs where the girls get together and have achance to form lasting friendships.Any junior or senior girl is eligible. The Blue-Tri is one of the oldestclubs in school. As a branch of the Y. W. C. A., its purpose is To findand give the best; its slogan, to Face Life Squarely.Page fifty-one |
