Description: |
Salomon begins this letter saying he is relieved to read that Badollet’s health has returned, because he has not stopped worrying since he first heard Badollet was sick. If he weren’t so busy, Salomon says, his letters would be much more frequent, but as it is the duties of his office take up all of his time. There is some drama about a man named Cazenove’s house, as he is moving out, but no one else can take his place there because he prudently got permission from the proprietor to use it for storage. Taking care of the house and Cazenove’s belongings has fallen to Salomon. In other news, the Potomac Bridge has burned and plans are being made to repair it as quickly as possible, someone nicknamed G is due to arrive before the first Monday in December, Salomon heard that the government has received news from Europe but has yet to make a statement, and lastly, Salomon asks for news of Mussard and Savary, from whom he has not heard in a while. He also sends well wishes to Mr. Ewing and Mr. Vigo. |
