John T. Bryant was a member of Company K of the 15th Indiana Infantry Regiment and in August of 1862, his unit was stationed near Louisville, Kentucky. In his letter, John Bryant mentions that he is stationed with several other regiments near Louisville, Kentucky but that there is nothing terribly exciting going on at the moment. Instead, Bryant is more focused on getting information from home and the people still living there, especially the women. He also mentions a lack of quality shoes and that he is hoping to get a discharge soon.
