439. Quartermaster Depot, Jeffersonville, Indiana, 1937

Description: The entrance of the Quartermaster Depot and its other buildings and grounds were originally thought to be a safe haven. However, this picture shows that even it fell to the swiftly rising waters. Shown is the entrance for cars and horses and personal. A few hardy souls did wait out the flood in the second floor ballroom, which is behind the three arched windows shown in this picture.
