263. Franks Dry Goods Store, 1897

Description: The dry goods store of H. Monroe Frank stood at 116 (now 355) Spring Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana. The image shows the two story brick Victorian Mr. Frank had built. Above the main floor display windows is a center bow front window with a pyramid type crown. Above the crown is arched lettering proclaiming H.M. Frank. Rather than a flat top to the facade, Mr. Frank had decorative edging with a Palladian point to top off the storefront roof-line. The building still stands. The image shows Mr. Frank standing at an open door. Nattily dressed, the windows show off clothing and his own personalized delivery carriage with horse and driver stand at the ready . The Franks lived above the store for a period of time
