Description: |
The image shows at least three boats and at least 25 men in or just outside the boats in knee deep water. These were the men and boats used in evacuating folks who had not been able to leave their homes because the waters rose faster than expected. In the right had corner of the picture is the water and shed of the Pennsylvania RR Depot at 14th Street. In the far distance, beyond telephone poles and wire, can be seen other homes surrounded by water. |
