Harris served as a U.S. Army cook in the Pacific Theatre. March 3, 1943Dear Alice, Susan & MotherWe are still waiting--. I feel fine. I got weighed & weigh 176. I think I can give you my APO address next week It is still raining here. I wish we had some warmer clothes as they would feel good. Will use the system we talked about if I can’t let you know where I am. It is OK for you to write to the address until you get the new one as our mail will be transferred will sent my belonging [sic] this PM or tomorrow. They will be a mess but maybe you can straighten them out. There is just nothing to write now. I wonder if you’ve received the moccasins I sent Susan. Will try & get service pin or something for you & mother. I will mail them or put them with my belongings if I can find what I want. May send my belonging COD if I can’t get to the post office. I got my money but will hang on to it in case I need some. I may send money order later. Love, Harold |
