The William H. Block Company was a department store founded by Herman Wilhelm Bloch in 1874. The store depicted in this photograph was located at 9 East Washington Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1911, W. H. Block opened its flagship store at 50 North Illinois Street, which, as of 2017, is an apartment building. |
