Fluorescent rock

Description: While this may look like an ordinary roadside rock under normal conditions, when it is placed under a black light it shines with an eerie brilliance. An ultraviolet light (or black light) causes this rock to fluoresce. This rock contains the minerals calcite, wernerite and franklinite and comes from a zinc mine in Franklin, New Jersey that is known around the world for producing brilliantly fluorescent stones.
