This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1) Sick man at 1525 S Alabama St. 2) Cat stuck on roof, dispatcher informs caller they wont come out and get cats down anymore. 3) Hydrants out of service on Central Ave from 61st to Kessler Blvd. 4) Woman having stroke at Janes Beauty Shop, 6169 N College Ave. 5) Council thrift shop 667 E 38th St., smell like hot wiring, wants fire department to check it. 6) Fire reported at 1850 N Delaware, smoke coming out of attic window. 7) Caller at 2134 Singleton complains that water line broke in basement, needs water shut off and cant get ahold of water company. Fire department cant shut off water, caller will need to keep trying. 8) Dispatcher makes some calls to ensure that fire department doesnt have water shut off keys. Truck 17 sent to investigate. 9) Dispatcher calls water company to request assistance with water shut off at 2134 Singleton. Recording ends at 12:41 PM. |
