Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1) Child calls to ask for more toys, dispatcher recommends child talk to Santa Claus. 2) Fire reported in vacant apartment building at 1117 N College Ave. 3) Woman having a stroke at Janes Beauty Shop, 6169 N College Ave. 4) [loud buzzing sound] 5) Report that fire reported at 1815 N Delaware was a false alarm. 6) Woman in medical distress at 749 N Centennial. 7) Woman hemorrhaging at 617 N East St. Apt 76 on 3rd floor. 8) Telephone maintenance worker calls about a fire box repair. 9) Fire reported at 16th and Fall Creek on the east bank, on the water. 10) Man injured at Palace Hotel on New Jersey St. just north of Washington St. Recording ends at 1:18 PM.
