This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1) Caller reported sewer stopped and smoking, 948 Indiana Ave., dispatcher thinks probably actually an incinerator, common issue in the area. 2) Engine called to follow up on a reported fire in the back of the lot, gate locked but fire was controlled in an incinerator where residents were burning trash. Officers returned to station. 3) Police dispatcher reported a woman suffering a diabetic emergency at 1757 Minocqua, Apt D, Barrington Heights. Fireman called back to say disregard, people said they didn�t need fire rescue. 4) Two car accident with injuries reported at 3106 E. 25th street near 25th street and Dearborn Avenue. Engine called back to disregard. 5) Call for assistant chief, busy, caller will call back. 6) Caller informed dispatch that Michigan Street was closed to eastbound traffic, open to westbound traffic.
