Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1) Caller requests Robert Hendricks. 2) Chief reports that Fire Box 835 at Keystone and Michigan had been incorrectly painted a bright yellow. 3) Engine 28 sent to respond to car fire at 3655 Hillside Avenue. 4) Ed McCann, retired fireman called to advise department of a planned trash burning at a vacant lot just north Kingston Square in Warren Township. Safety protocols would be observed, McCann wanted to inform fire department in case someone called about it. 5) Engine 2 sent to respond to illegal trash fire at 15th & Massachusetts. 6) House fire reported 2440 Broadway Street. 7) Fire reported in a field in the 6200 block of Carvel Ave. 8) Ambulance sent to assist a person with a heart attack at 833 North Gladstone. 9) Engine 18 responded to backyard fire at 12 North Addison.
