Dispatch call, June 7, 1969, around 10:23 PM

Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: Charlie, “Chuck”, identified as the dispatcher. Call from Chief Blazic wanting to talk to the 16s. Blazic asking Chuck if they received calls from all the districts, card dialing, from down there.; Female caller reporting a car fire at East and Massachusetts.; Kenny Gibbs? Calling to report he was not going to be home that evening, statements included information about windows being broken and shops being looted at 38th and Illinois, 38th and Meridian, etc., caller says he is riding armed; Male caller requesting to be put through to the 7s, dispatch asked if he wanted to talk to Pat Nix, but he wanted to talk to Kelly Murray?; Male caller reporting a fire in an abandoned house at 500 E. Walnut, dispatched Engine 7, Engine 8, Truck 7, District 2 and told to omit lights and sirens at 10:23pm.; Dispatch call to the 6s, Perry? answered , dispatch was looking for Chapman who was out at the time. Chapman called back, and dispatch thought Chapman may want to go to the fire at E. Walnut because of reports of flames coming from the top of the building.; Lieutenant Eddie Cade? Called dispatcher, identified as Charlie, reporting a woman coming in with 5 or 6 kids, one of them bitten by the family dog, requesting help to get to General Hospital. The woman was afraid to drive over to the hospital by herself with all that had been going on. The police would need to come and make a dog bite report. Call transferred to General Hospital Ambulance. There is a call back requesting a squad car to be sent at Station 30, 2440 N. Tibbs, the dispatch who answered the call back was identified as Bob.; Call from the 6s to verify address of a call at 730 Douglas.;
