Description:	This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: Fire at Central State Hospital fire in one of the women’s buildings, Truck 18 requested more help, sent two aerial trucks Snorkle? 13, Truck 7, and car 2. Requested another engine.; Fire Department Dispatcher call to Dr. Seltzer, for the fire at Central State Hospital, not a 2 alarm but an extra help.; Fire dispatcher call to a Ethel Birch?; Fire Dispatch to the Newsroom, Larson? Answered the call. Reporting the fire at Central State.; Doc Seltzer? call back about the call about Central State Hospital call. Joke about a Code 3.5 about now. Doctor Seltzer? Talked about how they revamped their procedures to move ambulances with the Task Forces. Talked about an overdose, how the police got there and asked where the ambulance was, and they were happy to report that the ambulance was already at the hospital with the patient. Talked about how the police were not on the scene when they got there. The hospital plans of putting an ambulance at the 24s and at the 3s or 17s if they go to a code 4, plans on just catering to the injured firemen.; Call from Shannon? To Dispatcher (Charlie) about whether there was any word on trouble. Report of the police dispatcher telling them about how groups were supposed to start forming around 6:00pm; Male caller reporting a car fire at 844 Virginia Ave., dispatched Engine 3 at 7:56pm; Male caller reporting fire at the Big 10 Market on Indiana Ave. was going again, equipment in route to 800 Indiana Ave. instructed to turn off sirens and make a quiet run.; Engine 13 trying to contact Engine 7; Dispatch called Office Blazic, reporting the Command Center had men ready, but no Code 4 had been made. Told to call Chief Russell if they want to but as of now the fires seemed to be normal fires, so to wait on a Code 4 unless they know something that isn’t known to the Fire Department.; 5 minutes of dead air.
