Dispatch call, June 7, 1969, around 8:47 PM

Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: Call to Russell from dispatcher, Blazic had requested that the information be forwarded on to Chief Russell. Command center called from the hot phone wanting to know if the fire department was sending anyone over to man fire department business. The fire department decided not to worry about it until they hit a Code 4.; Female caller reporting large amounts of smoke near 2400 N. Alabama on New Jersey. Police contacted to check the area.; Trash fire run at 145 E. 23rd , responders told to make silent run, dispatched Engine 22 at 8:47pm .; ADT Alarm at the Congress? Laundry, 420 E. Market St. , Box 81, 9:05pm; Male caller reporting a gasoline pump on fire at Lafayette Rd. Standard, Lafayette Rd. and Kessler Blvd., dispatched Engine 30 at 9:19pm.; Female calling about a lockout at 3460 N. Penn Apartment 3, brief confusion about who was called, dispatched Truck 14 at 9:22pm; Male caller reporting a fire at 650 E. 49th St. Chef’s Pantry, box 296. Time 9:25pm; Vermillion calling for ?; Call from the shop man.; Male caller asking for 2-3 spare air tanks for Engine 1 and Truck 1; Call to dispatch, Charlie, from Bob McGrath about having a dead battery at the station of Squad 7, dispatched car 19, also told to take two fresh air tanks; Charlie apologizing to Joe Mullen on Car 2.; Chauffeur Callahan called to report.; Truck 14 calling to report no forced entry at the lockout call; Firefighter caller wanting to see if Car 10 is on station, reports that they backed into a car requesting some pictures of the car, although both cars had left the scene of the accident at this point.; Male caller requesting the number to Drexel Gardens?, in Wayne Township, Chapel 12538.; Call for Chief Blazic; 18) Female caller wanting to talk to the man who had a bet on when things would be starting that evening. Reported things as being quiet at that time; Male caller wanting to know what was going on, and what way to come in. Directed to come in at New York St.
