Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: Dispatcher identified as Bob Cooper? Making calls to see how many men are on each site; 25s Johnson reporting 5 men in, heading to headquarters.; Request for the Engine pumping into H Line told to shut down.; Lambe? Called about A shift being called in, Loui Dexler? Told to come in. Chauffeur on the A shift, Herb Miller also called and told to go out to the fairgrounds. Cooper told that the A Shift was not supposed to be called.; District 3 contacting Engine 8; Dispatch call to Mort? 10 men present who came over after the Code 4, dispatcher asking what District Chief on site. Hutsell is at the 1s. District Chief 1x is Bates? Who made the run.; King called into dispatch wanting to know the deal with the 13s and 5s. Captain King is on the C Shift, and told to go to the 13s with everyone who was there.; Fulton at the 30? , dispatch talked to Chief Haley?, reported 18 men altogether, 10 of those as extra. Weer? At 31. District Chief Boswell. Chief Fulmer? Talking to Captain McMann? At the 10s.; Chief Fulmer at dispatch, to captain report of double crew on the 3s and 15s.; Keillor the 29s answered, Captain Burns, B shift and C shift together on the apparatus. Captain Burns will be with the 26s and Jack Hedges? Sent with the 29s.; Pierce? called in asking if he needed to come in on the A shift.
