Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt:1. Conversation about August 30th minor automobile accident while on dispatch call, and assignment of firemen to calls subsequently. 2. Call asking for contact information for a Captain Keller, dispatcher gives his telephone number at the Fire Prevention Bureau. 3. Car fire across from station 18. 4. Call for Assistant Chief, (AC). 5. 2420 North Centennial, fire fighters need an oxygen inhalator. 6. Report of injured men by North West corner of race track on State Fair grounds. Later calls about this situation, no man found at site indicated. 7. Woman calling to ask about registering a bicycle. 8. Chief Shoppenhorst calls. 8. Man asks about location of Burckhardt Street in the city. 9. Harold Osteen of Station 30 calls to ask about policy regarding inspection of city call boxes. Dispatcher describes at length the policy and circumstances of call boxes fire department.
