This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1. Call from Wheatley, asking if any information needed for speaking with reporters; he states that no one was injured in fire and that it started in hog pens at Hygrade. Wheatley voiced his opinion that the fire was very sudden and might have been arson. 2. Rail tracks near Hygrade declared open and operational to railroad representative. 3. Variety of calls from dispatcher to squads formerly engaged in fighting Hygrade fire, calls concern cleanup and redeployment of personnel and equipment following concentration for fire. 4. England receives call from his son, also a firefighter. 5. Call describing Fire department resources allocated to fire; 6 engines, 2 trucks, district three, car five and car one, chemical engine, snorkel, and hose tenders still listed as on site for Hygrade fire.
