Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt:1. Telephone repair man calls, reporting Box 773 is operational again. 2. Chief calling for information on recent IFD vehicle collision with automobile. 3. 4401 East 10th Street, woman fainted, inhalator dispatched. 4. Mary Till at Indianapolis Development Commission asking for Fire Prevention in order to ask about recent cases of arson around 19th Street and Sugar Grove. A family wants to relocate to escape these fires. Fire prevention mentions the arson incidents might be carried out by Black Power terrorists groups in the area. 5. Fire in field at 4501 North Dearborn. 6. Man calls to report serious fire hazard near his home, at 522 East Michigan next to his home is a major accumulation of paper and garbage on a neighbors porch. Dispatcher says he will send an inspector. 7. Grease fire reported at 1641 South Union, requested fire engine. 8. Caller asking for number of IFD headquarters. 9. 426 North State street, man having heart attack.
