Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt:1. Mr. Zimmerman calls to report of attempted arson, caller connected to station 13 arson squad. Caller says perpetrator is mentally unstable female resident attempting to burn down apartment at 1559 Broadway. 2. Man locked in attic at 702 East 63rd Street. 3. 3142 Ethel street, fire coming out of register. 4. Garage fire at 3022 College Street. 5. House fire at 2718 Highland Place, child calling from house across the street. 6. Fire at Perfection Peak Company, 715 East Maryland Street South West Building. Building was the site of previous fire. 7. Unconscious man in parking lot of Scientific Cleaners at 40th and Cornelius intersection. 8. 27th and Ritter child suspect. 9. At 4400 block of Indianola, caller reports a large amount of smoke coming from grill, wants fire department to come examine. Dispatcher explains the fire department is not allowed to do this. 10. Fire at 23rd and Illinois at old house.
