This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1. Caller asking about bicycle registration dates. 2. Engine 16 and truck 19 out of service to go to drill school. 3. Man calls for fire station telephone number. 4. Man at 5056 Rose lawn Drive, Emerson Green apartments reports live electrical wires down and lying across truck, dispatcher calls power and light company, the caller later reports that the truck is burning and wire throwing off sparks. 4. Electric stove fire at 3911 East Orange. 5. Woman calls to be connected to police. 6. Woman calls for local fire station number. 6. Smoke coming out of rear of building at 1035 North Tremont, engine 9 dispatched. 7. Man calling to try and locate the location of the address 4102 Yorktown Drive. Dictabelt |
