Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1.) Radio test trying to contact station 29, 239. 2.) 624 North California, disabled veteran having asthmatic fits, ventilator sent out. 3.) 46 14 East 34th Street, unconscious man in bathroom. 4.) Electronics store vice president calls dispatcher asking about engineer employee living at Here apartments, inquiring if he had been injured. 5.) 44-60 Marcy Lane, car on fire. 6) Caller asking what Here apartment units were damaged in the fire, sister is resident. 7.) 38th and Fall Creek at Oakland Oil Station unconscious child, engine 31 called. 8.) Backyard trash fire reported, 923 Southside of Harrison Street. 9.) Question about who is still on the three alarm Here fire. 10.) Firefighter asking if he is needed at the Here fire at 3900 Shadeland.
