This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1.) Dispatcher calls about pumping status of Engines 20, 31, 27, 19. 2.) Dispatcher calls to locate car 3. 3.) Call about Here fire casualties, plan to check building in the morning, fatalities unknown. 4.) Dispatcher call to hospital about injured firefighters, requests their urgent treatment. 5.) Request to shutdown line going into the �Snarkel�. 6.) Call from Associated Press to fire department about Here Apartment, now information for press, personnel and equipment still at the scene. 60 apartment units affected. Dispatcher outlines when more information will be available. 7.) Call from General Hospital, injured firefighters ready to be picked up. Dispatcher calls Chief to inform about firefighters. 8.) Dispatcher sends engine to district 6. 9.) Call for dispatch sent to 1020 West 28 to help unconscious lady. Dictabelt |
