Veterans agricultural training class instructors, March 1950

Description: Pete Edmonds (center), an instructor in the Veterans Agricultural Training Class at Corydon, Indiana, explains a chart to some of the instructors and chairmen of classes throughout the county. Others in the group are (left to right) Dewey Arnett, instructor at Depauw; Cecil Fravel, chairman of Mr. Edmonds’ class; Ronald Sellers, instructor at Mauckport; Henry Wolfe, instructor at Laconia; and Wayne Windell, instructor at New Salisbury. The training program provided a series of demonstrations designed to promote soil conservation practices and proper land use. The chairmen of the six county classes worked with the instructors in setting up the group’s on-the-farm demonstrations at local area farms. Farmers throughout the county were invited to attend.
