Maurice Griffin (1873-1951) entered the mercantile business with his father, Patrick Griffin, in 1897. Four of Maurice's six siblings also were involved in the family firm throughout their lifetimes. Maurice's youngest son, Frederick Porter Griffin, joined the firm as well and eventually became its sole proprietor. The Griffin store closed permanently in 1983 as the oldest retail business in Corydon. |
