Description: |
Daniel Patrick Griffin in his early twenties in a series of photo booth shots taken in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1908. Dan was the youngest child of Patrick and Helen Porter Griffin of Corydon, Indiana. He graduated from Purdue University's School of Pharmacy in 1905, and for a time worked at Foert Meyer Drugs in Cincinnati, Ohio. He eventually returned to Corydon and joined his siblings in managing the family's dry goods firm and store. Although engaged at one time, Dan never married, but was highly active in local church and social organizations as well as serving as a partner in the family business. "Uncle Dan," as he was commonly referred to, was the last member of the Griffin family to live in the Porter-Griffin home in Corydon, passing in 1975 at age 90. |
