South Bridge, Corydon, Indiana, ca. 1910

Description: The original arched truss bridge over Little Indian Creek in south Corydon, Indiana. View is to the northeast. Built ca. 1880, the arched truss bridge was supported by large stone piers. It was similar in design to the original bridge west of town over Big Indian Creek, which was built around the same time. North of the bridge can be seen the two-story frame building that later housed Alstotts hardware store. The bridge in this photo was razed in 1912 when a new bridge was constructed at the site.
