A summons is issued to the Sheriff of Knox Count to bring 12 men to the land of Abraham Snapp on Bosseron Creek Saturday September 14, instant. They are to view to the best of their skill and understanding the land proposed for the abutment of a dam for a mill. The jurors are also to examine the lands above and below and the properties of others to determine if any damages will result to other Manors, orchards, gardens, offices belonging to neighbors They are also to check to see if navigation will be obstructed through the building of a dam or if the health of the neighborhood will be endangered by stagnation of water. The petition is signed by R. Buntin, Clerk on September 12, 1811. The summons was executed and returned by James Petty, Deputy Sheriff. The following jurors met on the land of Abraham F. Snapp on Bosseron Creek Saturday September 14, 1811 to view the grounds proposed by Abraham Snapp for the abutment of a dam for a water mill. The jurors listed were: J. Black, George Benite, William Hill, Frances Williams, Samuel McClure, Jesse Haddon, Thomas Robbins, Charles Callico, William Ledgerwood, John Ocklitree, G. K. Sartor and Peter Liemour Jr. The jurors find that no damage will result to any of the neighboring properties and have allowed the construction of the dam. |
