Jones, John Rice vs Benjamin D Price

Description: A summons is sent to the Sheriff of Knox County to take Benjamin D. Price before the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas at Vincennes. He is to appear the last Monday of November, instant to answer unto John Rice Jones for the debt of $122 and $60 in damages he says Benjamin D. Prices owes to him. The summons was witnessed by R. Buntin, Clerk on November 21, 1808. A notation states that bail is required for the amount of the debt. The summons was executed by John McCandless, Deputy Sheriff with cost listed as $2.25 1/2. James Price is also listed as owing bail. A recognizance Bond for B. D. Price and James Price is filed. They are firmly bound unto Permenas Beckes for $182.00 on November 24, 1809. They are to appear in court the last Monday of November 1809 to answer and render unto John Rice Jones $122 plus damages of $60. The bond was witnessed by John McCandless and signed by B. D. Price and James Price.
