Gerome, Antoine vs. Francois Bisalion 1809

Description: The file contains one document, a Summons, from the suit Antoine Gerome brought against Francois Bisalion for not repaying a debt. The Summons written by R [Robert] Buntin, Clerk, CPKC, asked the Sheriff to take Bisalion into custody so he would appear on the 2nd of August, 1809 to answer unto Antoine Gerome on a plea that he render to him the sum of $84.00 and damages of $100.00. On the verso side of the Summons; tax paid, bail required. P [Parmenas] Beckes, Sheriff documented he executed the Summons and the case was dismissed at the Defendants cost. According to the Minute Book of the Knox County Court of Common Pleas 1807-1810, page 203; at the July Term 1809 the Plaintiff appeared by Gen W. Johnston and it appeared from the Sheriffs return on the capias ad respondenum that the suit was dismissed. It was ordered that the Plaintiff recover against the Defendant his costs and charges from the suit.
