Sullivan, Daniel vs. Benjamin Beckes

Description: This file contains one document, the Arbitrators Report regarding the suit Daniel Sullivan brought against Benjamin Beckes over saw stock and planking. The Arbitrators Report written on August 3, 1809, ordered that Benjamin V. [Vincennes] Beckes with in six months from the above date, pay unto D. Sullivan the sum of one hundred and twenty-eight dollars in the Common Trade of the county at its general market price of; Poplar weather boarding plank at nine shillings. Should the two parties not agree upon the value or value of the Trade, they each shall choose a man who shall determine the same and in full of the contract about the Plank or stock. Ash, oak or Walnut at two dollars per hundred feet at Beckes Mill one half to be Poplar the other half the other kind. Signed Gen. W. Johnston, John Johnson, and Thomas Randolph. According to the Knox County Minute Book 1807-1810; page 208; The parties appeared in court for the July 1809 Term. The Arbitrators Report was read and it was court ordered.
