Samuel Bruner promissory note to Zack Pulliam 1841

Description: The file contains a promissory note Samuel Bruner issued to Zach Pulliam March 1, 1841 for $900. Also included is a Public Instrument of Protest by Notary George Rathbone because there were insufficient funds to cover the note. On March 1, 1841, Samuel Bruner wrote a promissory note to Zach Pulliam for $900 on the Vincennes Branch of the Indiana State Bank. On the back, the note was endorsed by Zack Pulliam, Martin Robinson, and Samuel Bruner. On July 2, 1845, George W. Rathbone, Notary, at the request of John Ross, Esq, Cashier, presented the note at the Branch at Vincennes and was told That the note would not be paid, as no funds had been placed in Bank for the payment of the same. Rathbone documented the insufficient funds notice on a document By This Public Instrument of Protest and served notice on Z. Pulliam and Martin Robinson. The promissory Note and the Public Instrument Notice were filed by W. R. Mc Cord, Clerk, on August 22, 1845.
