Solomon Hays vs Joseph Baird

Description: Court transcript written by Robert Buntin, Prothonotary of the suit Solomon Hays brought against Joseph Baird in a plea of Trespass, and asking for damages of ten thousand dollars. November 15, 1799, Solomon Hays sued for a writ of Capias ad respondendum against Joseph Baird in plea of Trespass and asking for ten thousand dollars in damages. He was to appear at the February 1800 Term. The Writ was witnessed by Piere Gamelin and executed by C. Wyant. General George Washington Johnston, entered himself security for cost of suit. John Harbin, special bail and on motion of Defendant by his attorney. It is ordered by the court that a Deposition be taken of Tussanint Dubois before Jonatha Purcell, Pierre Gamelin and Robert Buntin. The cause was continued until the next term, March 7, 1800.
